Which iOS fonts support these characters?
The characters provided by the Math and Science Keyboard are supported by several fonts in iOS, but no iOS font supports the complete set. This may result in less than perfect display, for example, superscript digits may sit at different heights. The Math and Science Keyboard app therefore also contains the DejaVu Sans font, which can be installed from within the app. This font includes almost all characters provided by the keyboard (the exceptions are the currency symbols 元, 円, ₽, and ₼).
Do all iOS apps work with the DejaVu Sans font?
The DejaVu Sans font can be used in those iOS apps that allow you to select any installed font; this includes, for example, Apple’s Pages app. Apps that use web views, such as Safari, do not use installed fonts. Web pages have to enable their own fonts via the @font-face feature in their style sheets in order to display well in such apps. If you’d like to use the DejaVu Sans font in web pages, you can obtain it from the DejaVu project site.
Why does the keyboard not make click sounds when I tap keys?
Currently custom keyboards in iOS can only play sounds if they have Full Access, the permission that also lets them also share data with other apps or with web servers. In order to fully protect your privacy, the Math and Science Keyboard does not request Full Access.
